What is Microneedling?

Microneedling or Skin needling is a cosmetic procedure that involves repeatedly puncturing the skin with tiny sterile needles.

How does it work?

The aim of the treatment is to traumatise the skin without collateral damage to the epidermis and healthy tissue. 

During the microneedling treatment, specific serums are applied to the skin which will target different skin conditions

Creating tiny open channels in the skin with needling allows up to 80%  more product into the skin.

Microneedling Exclusions:

Microneedling is NOT suitable if you have any of the following contraindications:

• Active Herpes simplex (cold sores)
• Recent wounds (scarring must be at least 3 months old)
• Use of retinol in the last 6 weeks pre treatment.
• Use of Roaccutane or prescription acne treatments in the last 6 months
• Recent sunburn
• Active Eczema / psoriasis
• Recent radiation
• Hypertrophic / keloid scars
• Warts
• Recent cryotherapy
• Facial skin cancer
• Pregnancy, breast feeding
• Sculptra
• Severe blood blotting disorder

Post Treatment Advice:

• Use of Genosys Repair Cream should be used for one week after treatment to help healing process. (purchasable for £16)
• Skin may feel tighter or dryer - this is quite normal
• Do not use sunbed, sunbathe or sauna for 2-4 weeks
• SPF (factor 30) is essential to use on treated area
• Avoid electrolysis, waxing, bleaching the treated area for at least 36 hours
• Do not swim in chlorinated water for 14 days
• No excessive exercise immediately after the treatment
• Avoid makeup for 24 hours (mineral makeup is recomended)
• Take directed advise if undergoing laser or IPL treatment.
